Lasted for 23 minutes and 49 seconds, the
episode told the story of a young Jii and emphasizes Kaitou’s real skill.
Jii Kounosuke Husling Days |
Kaitou and Aoko were lounging off at Blue
Parrot, Jii’s pool bar establishment. While both display their inability to
hustle the pool, a customer of Jii got irritated. Jii stopped the customer from
making a ruckus thus was belittled for having a lame establishment, then
declared that he was going to the famous American Pool Bar down the street with
the Legendary Cue instead. The cue once belonged to Jii but he lost it in a
match with the mentioned bar owner’s own billiard player.
Jii then open the
story of his younger days, earning money by playing in billiard matches (i.e.
betting). He met Hasura Tsuujirou in one of his match, but Jii made a mistake,
and Hasura won the bet. However, without Hasura’s knowledge, the bar owner
tempered with Jii’s chalk, leading to Jii’s defeat. Not satisfied with the
result, Kaitou sent a challenge notice to steal the Legendary Cue from Hasura.
Later that night, Aoko and Kaitou slipped in the American Pool Bar disguising
themselves as university student. Kaitou and Jii then went to the back room, to
watch Hasura’s game.
While Hasura display his great ability, Kaitou
deliberately belittle the skill, thus challenging the hustler to a match.
Kaitou once again revealed how poorly skilled he is by making amateur mistakes
throughout the game. He lost bet after bet. After a series of losses, Kaitou
then upped the bet, using Jii’s Blue Parrot as collateral. Hasura, out of
sympathy for the old man was reluctant to accept the bet. His employer however,
was greedy thus forces the billiard player to accept the match, using the
Legendary Cue as collateral. Kaitou then skilfully showcased his skill, winning
the round almost effortlessly.
When Hasura lost to Kaitou, the owner tried to
resort to violence but just then Kid the Phantom Thief made an appearance.
Hasura stopped the phantom thief then, claiming that his notice is void since
Kid now have to steal from Kaitou instead of Hasura, proving that Hasura
acknowledged Kaitou’s win. Kid then left the cue, with the reason as to not
wanting to tarnish his name. When he left, police came storming the
establishment and caught all the employees, Hasura included. Hasura then hinted
that he knew Kaitou uses tricks in the match.
Back in Blue Parrot, Kaitou told
Jii that he is no hustler, but a magician.
