The episode opened up with a continuation
of Xin and Muta’s duel. Unable to accurately measure the strength of Muta, the
overconfident Xin underestimated Muta, claiming his victory before the battle had even begun. Muta however, was skilled in hiding his strength. At Xin ridicule,
Muta, filled with the pride of his tribe, unleashed his murderous intent, paralyzing part of Xin’s strength. Initially
wanting to use his blowgun on Xin, Muta settled on battling with his axes
instead to show Xin the strength of his tribe, Bessa Tribe.
Muta successfully
injured Xin, surprising him with incredibly speed. Ying Zheng, who was watching from
the house, wouldn’t help Xin when asked by Diao. He asked Xin whether the boy
require his assistance but at Xin’s refusal, Ying Zheng sat calmly, watching the
match from the side.
Back in the palace, General Wang Qi presented the head of
Minister Chang Wenjun to Shi Shi, Chancellor Jie Shi’s aide. Due to the almost
unrecognizable condition of the head, Shi Shi asked the general to explain how
he managed to seized the head of Minister Chang Wenjun. General Wang Qi then
recapped the battle with Minister Chang Wengjun during the minister’s run with the
king’s double.
Minister Chang Wenjun ran to Shuda Hills when being pursued, due to the
hill excellent point at hiding armies, where his troops were readying for General Wang Qi's pursuit. However, the general saw to this in
advance and had hidden his own army at the hill thus countered Minister Chang Wenjun’s
plan. He then battled the minister on a one-on-one duel and brought the result
of the battle to Shi Shi in the form of a severed head.
Resuming the battle at
King Duke Mu’s summer house, although standing on the losing side, Xin grew
stronger at every stroke. Muta realized Xin’s growing strength and when Xin was
about to win, Muta decided to finish his assignment by blowing his poisonous
dart towards Ying Zheng. Unfortunately for Muta, Minister Chang Wenjun arrived, delivering
a fatal blow on the assassin. The arrival of the minister and his small group
of army was welcomed by Zheng and the young king’s survival brought happy tears
to his loyal subjects. The grateful show however, angered Xin.
